BioI stepped out, car door screeching,
footstep on pavement, hard
black infinity spiraling
long into the night.
And found Him: a crooked
shape of thick blackness
with the geometry of a carcass
dropped from the moon like an eggshell
clushing the asphalt.
A deer, god of the animals
beast of the field
running from corporate religion,
who was too busy with
the business of
crucifying fear on billboards
to watch the sunless night anymore
I took his horns
Tied them to my temples, crown
to my pounding skull,
and staggered
as His hum
spilled into my Head. Blister
hormone, grunts
of footage, flashes of
muscle hunted through my mind
through trees swollen, pregnant
with moonlight
smelling the wind like a god
like a gunshot
